Who we are
Helping others as we were helped
Most of our founders came to Scotland from Ukraine after the outbreak of war in 2022. We left behind our homes, our routines, and many of the things that once felt certain. Together with Scottish friends and supporters, we began building a charity that reflects the support we ourselves received.
Along that journey, we experienced generosity, kindness, and practical help from local communities. These experiences showed us how important it is that nobody should have to face difficult times alone.
Today, Pilgrim Bridge brings together people from Ukraine and Scotland who share a commitment to supporting others, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for people to thrive.
Pilgrim Bridge was born from shared experiences, lasting friendships, and a common desire to turn gratitude into action. Our founders include people from both Ukraine and Scotland, united by a commitment to serving others and making a positive difference in the communities around them.
We chose the name Pilgrim Bridge because life often leads people through unfamiliar paths, challenges, and new beginnings. Along the way, bridges of kindness, friendship, and support help us move forward. We believe communities are strongest when people build such bridges for one another.
Some of us are inspired by our Christian faith, while all of us are united by the belief that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to flourish.
We are grateful for the welcome we received in Scotland. Pilgrim Bridge is our way of passing that kindness on and helping others find support, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.
